I am always curious about all world cuisines and am a big fan of Persian foods like in Lezziz Kurdish & #Persian Delights
Previously I introduced International Food Challenge #1 Chinese Cuisine – Cantonese Region and International #Food Challenge Japan – Hokkaido Cuisine to name a few!

For those who may not be familiar with the history or geography of Persian Cuisine, perhaps a few bits of information will help you!
Iran was known as Persia until 1935 until Iran became an Islamic republic in 1979 after the monarchy was overthrown and the Shah of Iran was exiled.; being threatened with imprisonment or death upon return.

With this Are You Curious About This Month’s International Food Challenge – #Persian Cuisine?, Savitha shared:
Iranian cuisine or Persian cuisine refers to the traditional and modern styles of cooking related to Iran. Situated in the Middle East, the Iranian culinary style is unique to Iran, though has historically both influenced and has been influenced by Iran’s neighbouring regions at various stages throughout its history.
Fresh green herbs are frequently used along with fruits such as plums, pomegranates, quince, prunes, apricots, and raisins. Typical Persian main dishes are combination of rice with meat, lamb, chicken, or fish and some onion, vegetables, nuts, and herbs. To achieve a balanced taste, characteristic Persian flavorings such as saffron, dried limes, cinnamon, and parsley are mixed delicately and used in some special dishes.

My name is Joanne aka Joanna aka mickeydownunder aka FANG and I have a confession!
I have only made Persian food at home one time before in Spinning Globe Persians Pomegranate and Pistachio Meatballs.
I marinaded the chicken over night and loved how easy, moist and tender the chicken was!
I really enjoyed this month’s Persian Cuisine Challenge and am sure as a result, I will be making many more Persian cuisine dishes at home as they are not difficult to do!
